Hannah-Rei News
MBF Awards 2007
November 2006-07 was a seminal year for the Musicians Benevolent Fund, MBF Songwriting Award when Hannah-Rei became an outright winner with her unique Soul sound and a first for the contest in that genre. She returns to The Bedford in Balham on Tuesday 27th November as the guest artist for the 2007 Award Show, performing her own ubiquitous style of original material and an acoustic set along with new band members Joe Kenny (Keys), Jack Stevens (Bass) and James Harrison (Guitar).
“Hannah-Rei was the clear winner in a genre in which it’s very difficult to be good … she had definitely presented the best songs” said Guy Chambers Chair of the MBF Songwriting Award 2006 judging panel and who is perhaps best known for his collaboration as a songwriter and producer with Robbie Williams on five massively successful albums. Chambers was joined on the panel by Cathy Dennis, writer of hit singles including Kylie Minogue’s ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ and Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’, David Stark, Editor/Publisher of SongLink International magazine, Jake Shillingford, former front man of cult orchestral band ‘My Life Story’ and Tony Moore, who manages The Bedford.
Hannah-Rei presents two myspace sites to reflect her own band style http://myspace.com/hannahrockcliffe
and her collaborative projects with a growing collection of Urban producers. http://myspace.com/hannahreisongwriting.
